WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY

Hypnotherapy is a type of psychotherapy. Hypnotherapy aims to re-program patterns of behaviour within the mind, enabling irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts and self-destructive behaviour to be overcome.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Hypnosis is simply a series of instructions. All you have to do is focus on what I'm is saying, and follow my instructions. Once you are in hypnosis, I am then able to suggest ideas, concepts and lifestyle adaptions to you that are aligned with your goal for the session.

WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT RESULTS?

You should begin to experience changes immediately, and should expect to see real, positive changes within a few weeks. Obviously, the more sessions you have, the faster you should achieve your goal.

WILL YOU MAKE ME DO SOMETHING WITH WHICH I AM NOT COMFORTABLE?

No, it's not like in the movies. Hypnosis is not mind control. Hypnosis is a very natural state of mind, is safe, and you are always in control. Hypnotherapy is not about being made to do things, it's about empowering you.

WHAT IF I GET STUCK IN HYPNOSIS?

You cannot get stuck in hypnosis. I want to reassure you that no one has ever been stuck in hypnosis and in over 200 years, no one has ever been hurt by hypnosis. The worst thing that can happen to you is that you fall asleep.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN DURING MY SESSION?

Firstly, I will begin by introducing myself and making sure your purpose for the session is clear and commitment to making changes is 100%. Then I will take you through your hypnotherapy treatment. After which we will discuss how you felt the session went, and what changes you can expect to experience over the coming days and weeks. The video call will then be concluded.

WHAT DOES HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?

You will experience a sense of deep relaxation. Your breathing becomes slower and deeper, your pulse rate will drop and metabolic rate falls. Changes along your nervous pathways and hormonal channels enable pain to become less acute and the awareness of unpleasant symptoms such as nausea or indigestion to be alleviated. You may not necessarily feel hypnotized, because you will stay completely aware of things and sounds around you.

WILL I LOSE CONTROL?

In a hypnotherapy session, you are always in control. Hypnosis is actually a very natural state of mind. You enter into a state of hypnosis many times a day, such as when you are driving and you almost miss your turn because you are so focused on a specific thought. Or when you arrive at your destination and don't even remember how you got there because your mind was somewhere else. The therapist merely facilitates your experience during hypnosis and is unable to make you do something that is against your moral compass.
